Family Promise Host Week

@ Look for the sign-up tables in the lobby beginning September 26th. We hope you would be willing to help families that are experiencing homelessness by helping set up & take down rooms, preparing and serving meals, hosting evenings and overnights, baking, and do laundry. Family Promise partners with over 30 interfaith congregations across the Valley to provide safe overnight shelter, food and compassion to families in crisis. WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED: Room Setup | Sunday 4:00-5:00pm Room Takedown | Sunday 6:30am-7:30am (3-4 people for each) Volunteer teams set up the accommodations on Sunday afternoon. This includes blowing up the beds, making them, and arranging the rooms for the families. Likewise, when the families leave, the following Sunday morning, volunteers take down and repack all the beds. Rooms are rearranged for usual Sunday morning church activities. Meal Preparation | Sunday-Saturday Bring food at 4:30pm Dinner is a hot meal and can be prepared at volunteer’s home, at the church or take out can be brought in as a treat. Please plan to have meal delivered warm to serve 15 people. Crockpots are available. A menu for the week is planned and recipes provided upon request. Serving Assistants | 5:00pm-7:00pm (2-3 people each night) Help with light food preparation, serve the guests and clean up after dinner.
